石磨面粉机的上扇在作旋转运动，其磨齿与下扇的磨齿相互间咬合以及相错，而形成很微小的升降运动，于是上下扇之间便出现了瞬息的齿隙，使加工的粮食通过上扇的孔道不断进入磨齿。面粉就在这样的研磨中生产出来。
